Last April, Greenpeace International released an updated version of their “Toxic Threads” report, which showed how several major fashion brands were using cancer-causing dyes in clothing items, polluting waterways with dangerous chemicals and frequently showing little concern for the disposal of hazardous substances used in the manufacturing process. But as concerns about the high toll of cheap fashion items on the environment continue to grow, several companies are setting out to set a new industry trend: sustainability.
