90% of Millennial Kids Give to Charities and Churches

Millennial kids may be growing up during tough economic times, but that hasn’t stopped them from being generous. A new United Nations Foundation study found that 9 out of 10 “millennial kids” (defined as young people ranging in age from 8 to 19-years-old) gave at least some money to a church, synagogue or another nonprofit during a two-year period. One of the study’s main researchers also offered this advice to parents and future parents. "All parents ask, 'How can I raise my kids to be generous, altruistic adults?’ We have an answer for that: Talk to your kids about giving." Their findings revealed that if parents talk about philanthropy with their children, the kids were 20 percent more likely to become charitable themselves …

I think the 2 year period has a lot to do with the 9/10 result.
