Awesome Picture of Marine Helping Boy During a 5K Race Goes Viral

Here’s the story: During a recent 5K run in Michigan, a 5-year-old boy become separated from the runners he started with. When he saw Lance Cpl. Kerr, who was part of a group of Marines also running the race separately wearing boots and equipment, the little guy asked him, “Sir? Will you please run with me?” At the finish line, fearing that their fellow Marine had become injured or overheated after not crossing the line in his normal time, other soldiers began to make their way back down the course, when they saw Kerr and this boy coming across the final turn. According to a Facebook post following the race, “Lance Cpl. Kerr urged him on when the boy wanted to give up and ensured that the boy saw the course to completion where he was reunited with his party.” Kerr later tweeted that the boy’s parents gave him a $100 restaurant gift card. If you ask us, they’re both heroes …
