President Obama’s Easter Message: Recommit to Christ's Example

Instead of mentioning any headline-grabbing political issue or international conflict, President Obama used his weekly address to give an Easter and Passover greeting. In the brief message, President Obama said on Easter Sunday, he is reminded of the example of Christ and His commitment to serve others:

As Christians, my family and I remember the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for each and every one of us–how He took on the sins of the world and extended the gift of salvation. And we recommit ourselves to following His example here on Earth. To loving our Lord and Savior. To loving our neighbors. And to seeing everyone, especially ‘the least of these', as a child of God'.

He also said that similar values unite “all faiths” and that all Americans should have a belief that “as part of something bigger than ourselves, we have a shared responsibility to look out for our fellow citizens” …

We could all use the re-fresh on learning to live by His example. Good words Mr. President!

The way he gets away with masking himself as a Christian scares me. It is good that he mentioned the bible, yeah, maybe it'll get a couple others to open theirs up who wouldn't have before. But this 'similar values unite all faiths' crap is kind of scary. More 'one world religion' crap... No thanks Obama!

I totally agree with you Erin. I think as Christians it all comes down to what the bible says, John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And also, Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." The more accepting we become of the message that all faiths are similar the more accepting we become of a one world religion/government.
