About the Artist
Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Josh Gilligan is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who cut his teeth recording songs in his bedroom as a teenager. Josh's influences are widely varied, but his sound represents an easily-palatable blend of Americana, Folk, and Soft Rock music.
Following his debut release Flesh and Blood, Josh's Christmas EP is a project that he had dreamed up years before creating it. "I've always loved classic Christmas songs. The question for me was never 'What's your favorite Christmas song?' but rather 'What's your favorite version of your favorite Christmas song?' The lyrics are timeless, so the songs can be redone time and again, yet take on a host of different musical personalities while maintaining the original message. That idea has always drawn me to Christmas music, and it's why I wanted to do this project."
The project was a collaborative effort carried out by Josh and a few close friends - recording was done over the course of two days with engineer/producer, Jeremiah John Dunlap (Bellarive, Hoyle), and the cover was hand-drawn by Megan Mercier of Gold House Paper.
